Dichotomies of certainty and uncertainty in changing times

Lately, there is a trend in people feeling the dichotomy of certainty and uncertainty, both on a macro scale, and in their personal lives. This is normal during periods of change. ie. What will stay? What will change? And what will go?

This is occurring broadly, but it is accentuated by the start of Spring, which took place on March 21st. Spring is a season of change and rebirth! We as humans also have transitional processes occurring in our bodies at this time that align with the seasons and the start of Spring. Just like how nature goes through rebirth, growth, and blossoming in Spring, we will also have rebirth and growth in our lives.
Any period of change or re-birth requires us to grieve an older version of ourselves. Grief can trigger a collective fear. Rather than become a victim to unnecessary fear, I invite you to see it a different way!
Remember that there is a universal connection that keeps the essence of all of us united through time and space. While the physical form may change over time, remember that we are all connected, despite loss or changes in our lives, and that connection is beautiful. Though we may experience changes in physical form or the external experience as we go through the seasons of our lives, the divinity of our essence is always present and unchanging.
To give a very basic example, say you are beginning to add more vegetables into your diet, in an effort to improve how you feel on a day-to-day basis. You may "grieve" the loss of the part of you that loved to grab a processed pastry instead of a more nutritious choice. Perhaps the daily processed pastry felt comfortable, maybe fun! However, if you can connect to the essence of you that was always attempting to make yourself "feel good," you can see that you are still the same "you" at your essence, even though you may make different choices. You may still enjoy the pastry from time to time! But your relationship to it will be different. Perhaps you will feel more balanced and less addicted to your patterns of behavior. That would be a change, but a good one! In a way, you are still "you," making choices to make yourself feel good, but the behaviors or even possible patterns of addiction are changing. You are experiencing a rebirth!
This is an example of change in regards to self, However, the period we are currently in may likely cause a rebirth in relationships. Perhaps friends, love interests, or ways of making money will change for you. Those things may feel more complicated as they involve not only yourself, but other people as well. In these examples, the message is clear.
Stay true to yourself and remind yourself of who you are everyday!
If you do this, you will move through this period more gracefully. Rather than trying to control the details, remember who you are at your essence. This will soften the "fear" of loss or the tendency to "control" your surroundings, which is so common in the collective consciousness during periods of change. Fear and hyper control will only make you feel worse!
You will never lose yourself as long as you set the intention to stay connected to yourself. Things or people on the outside form may stay, fall away, or change, but stay with yourself through it all.
Your essence will then blossom in this period! You may be able to achieve new goals that you previously tried to convince yourself were not possible.
This period of growth may be challenging. How do you stay connected to yourself through it all?
Prayer! However you pray: scripture, improvise, dancing, laughing, crying, journaling.
Self care! Take care of your body. Even a little bit goes a long way! Perhaps add a homemade celery juice to your day for cleansing; or spend 5 minutes outside just absorbing the sunshine; or take some extra vitamins to support your internal systems; or get enough rest! Whatever it is that will support your physical body, (without you feeling like you have to be perfect about it.)
Do you what you love! Spend a little time every day on your passions! Do you love sewing or cooking or playing with your kids or cleaning your home or going for walks or making a beautiful latte in the morning? Do it! Let yourself enjoy yourself.
These basic ways of supporting yourself will set the stage for you to achieve new feats! Rebirth happens over time. While staying connected to yourself, also work towards what you want! Do you want to grow your business? Work on it! A little every day. Do you want to learn a language? Practice a little! Every day.
Work towards the goals you have so that you can bring forth new expressions of yourself! Who you are at your core is is certain and unchanging! How you express and live your life will grow and change over time.
When you do this, other things in your life will naturally fall away; other things in your life will stay; and other things in your life will shift. No need to become obsessed with what will change and what won't. Instead, remember who you are, everyday, and let the Universe handle the rest.
Sometimes, we obsess about controlling the process, and this creates the dichotomy of certainty and uncertainty. Anxiety or stress that comes from "uncertainty" is just the illusion of the ego trying to tell you that you do not know what you're doing or that you have to control everything. Rather, embrace how certain you are that the future is uncertain, but that the Universe loves you and has the best in store for you! And remind yourself that everyday. Remind yourself: I am loved. Then ask yourself: what do I truly desire to bring into the world?
Or, if that's all too much. Just breathe. :) And let every breath be a reminder that you are connected to something bigger, and your breath will guide you, every step of the way.
Lastly, :) let's touch base on the macro: there is so much happening in the world that is completely out of our control! Don't get sucked into obsessing or dwelling on what you cannot control that is outside of you. Remember that the most powerful thing you can do is take the reins on your life and the ripple effect that it creates. If everybody does this, a grassroots transformation will occur, for the better, for the world.
